Youth participate in many ministries at St. Francis
The Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana lives into our Baptismal Covenant by welcoming, inviting, and including children and youth into our church as integral members and leaders within the Body of Christ. We equip and empower our young people to discern and discover the unique spiritual gifts that God has given them and we commit to walk with them as they discover how they can use their gifts to serve their churches, schools, communities, and beyond. We support and nurture their eagerness to hear how God is calling them and we believe we are called to serve as guides as they explore and articulate their faith as Christians and Episcopalians.
Children and youth participate in many events and activities throughout the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana each year.
As we grow and expand our youth ministries in Louisiana, we thank you for your prayers, presence and continued support.
Happening is a youth-led spiritual formation weekend designed for high school teens. It is an amazing experience that changes the way you think about yourself and your faith.
The purpose of the Happening program is to be one of the instruments within the Anglican Tradition to renew the Christian Church in the power of the Holy Spirit, in order that the Church may respond more readily to its call to spread the Kingdom of God throughout the world. Happening seeks to achieve this purpose by bringing young persons and adults to a fuller personal knowledge of and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, and to a deeper level of commitment and apostleship.
Who can attend Happening? Happening is open to 9th through 12th-grade teenagers of any denomination who have not participated in Happening in the past.
You need not be Episcopalian to attend, however, you must be committed to engaging in theological reflection from a Christian perspective.

Each year, the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana offers a weekend long retreat for middle high and high school students.
These weekends, referred to as “Rally” is a time for youth to relax, retreat, fellowship, and grow in their faith. Rally is planned by the Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee, a group of youth and adults from around the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana.
Each weekend features a theme and a guest musician. Rally is open to all youth in grades 6th-12th grade in the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana and friends from any religious backgrounds. While the topics presented and discussed will have a Christian focus we welcome all young people who have a willingness to participate fully in the weekend regardless of their religious affiliation.
You need not be Episcopalian to attend, however, you must be committed to engaging in theological reflection from a Christian perspective.
