PET BLESSING IN HONOR OF THE FEAST OF ST. FRANCIS - Oct. 3rd 9:30am
St. Francis Episcopal Church and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church are excited to announce their annual St. Francis Day Pet Blessing. In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, pets of any and all kinds will be blessed. Please ensure all pets are safely contained or leashed for the comfort and safety of everyone attending.
In addition to the blessing, the event will feature a pet food drive to support the Denham Springs Animal Shelter. Donations of Purina Cat, Dog, Puppy, and Kitten food are preferred. The shelter is also collecting newspapers, old washcloths, and towels to support their daily operations.
This annual event serves as a bridge between two churches and a symbol of unity within the community. Whether furry, feathered, or scaled, all pets are invited to participate. Pet photos and stuffies are also welcome.
There will also be a display and remembrance of those beloved animal companions now gone. Feel free to bring your pet’s photo to remember.

Bible Study: Thursdays at 10:00 AM
Have you ever wanted to read the Bible but found yourself bogged down by complex genealogies, repetitive laws, or confusing timelines? You are not alone. Join us for an epic adventure to experience the Bible not as a collection of assorted fragments, but as a single, sweeping narrative of God's extraordinary love for humanity. The Path: A Journey Through the Bible by Melody Wilson Shobe & David Creech |
Wired Word Discussion Group: Wednesdays at 6:30 PM
Are you interested in seeing how the Bible is alive today, applicable here and now? Each week the leader chooses one of two different prepared lessons, and emails it out to all who are interested in participating. (If you want a printed copy, contact the office--we'll get a copy ready for you to pick up.) Each lesson is based on a current news topic with an article compiled from reputable sources and includes Scripture citations, theological commentary, and discussion questions. All is based on the foundations of Christian faith, and shows how faith is lived out in the world. Join us! |
