Preparing Well: Conversations for the End of Life
This year's Lenten Learning will be a series of presentations and discussions that concern mortality, and help us better prepare for our own or loved ones' death. As Christians, we need not fear death, as we have been assured of the Resurrection to new life. Meet in the church at 5:30pm for worship together, then join us for a light supper and presentation. Guests are welcome! Please sign up or call the church office to RSVP to allow a count for dinner. • On February 25, join us for a special presentation on The Five Wishes by guest speaker Becky Williams. She will walk us through The Five Wishes, a thoughtful program that helps guide end-of-life decisions. • On March 4, Lenten Learning continues with a presentation by Shelley Wintz from Pinnacle Home Health Care on Facts and Myths about Palliative Care and Hospice. Learn what these services are, how they are available, and to whom. We will discuss Insurance coverage for both levels of care and what exactly is offered at each level, i.e. medical equipment, visits from the interdisciplinary team, medical, emotional and spiritual care. March 11 will cover Legal and Financial Concerns at End-of-Life. On March 18 we will examine our resources and put together a plan for a funeral. We will wrap up the series on March 25 with a presentation, Live Your Life Now! Plan on joining us! Worship at 5:30 pm, Light Supper at 6pm with presentations to follow! RSVP, please. |
