THEN HE TOOK A LITTLE CHILD
AND PUT IT AMONG THEM;
AND TAKING IT IN HIS ARMS, HE SAID TO THEM,
"WHOEVER WELCOMES ONE SUCH CHILD IN MY NAME WELCOMES ME,
AND WHOEVER WELCOMES ME WELCOMES NOT ME, BUT THE ONE WHO SENT ME.

WE ARE ALL CALLED TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS
EPIPHANY CELEBRATION
On January 6, we were honored to have a visit from Three Wise Men who shared stories of their journey and impressions on meeting the Messiah.
The Wise Men brought gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh during the service and placed their gifts by the creche.
We are indebted to Jim Wingate, Paul Rumage and Dr. Jay Brooks for their wonderful portrayal of Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar. They provided humorous and amazing insight into their presentation of the Three Wise Men.
Our Epiphany Celebration included delicious King Cake.
CANDLEMASS
Candlemas (also spelled Candlemass), also known as the Feast of the Presentation of Our Lord Jesus and the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a Christian Holy Day commemorating the presentation of Jesus at the Temple. It is based upon the account of the presentation of Jesus in Luke 2:22–40.It falls on February 2, which is traditionally the 40th day of the Christmas–Epiphany season.
On Candlemas, many Christians also bring their candles to their local church, where they are blessed and then used for the rest of the year; for Christians, these blessed candles serve as a symbol of Jesus Christ, who referred to himself as the Light of the World.

Praying Hands

Conrad and Mason carry candles to be blessed during Candlemas service.

This is why Shepherds are so important
I sing a song of the saints of God" by Lesbia Scott;
I sing a song of the saints of God,
Patient and brave and true,
Who toiled and fought and lived and died
For the Lord they loved and knew.
And one was a doctor,
And one was a queen,
And one was a shepherdess on the green:
They were all of them saints of God –
and I mean, God helping, to be one too.
