REOPENING GUIDELINES

This Sunday, June 14, we will begin our return to regular worship services at St. Francis Church.

In light of the ongoing concerns related to the Covid- 19 pandemic, and to ensure the safety of this congregation and the wider community, a number of changes have been made to our regular practices:

1. Social Distancing protocols will be in effect for the duration of our time on campus. This will mean maintaining a separation of at least six (6) feet between individuals who are not part of the same household.

2. Masks will be required for all adults and children ages 3 and older. Individuals are encouraged to bring their own, but masks will be available if needed. Hand sanitizer will be available near the entrance to the church.

3. Distance markers will be placed on the sidewalk leading to the entrance of the church and seating will be marked to ensure adequate distancing between family groups.

4. Near the entrance to the Parish Hall, a member of the Welcome Committee will take your name and the names of all in your group. This information is being compiled at the request of the Diocese to facilitate contact tracing.

5. Upon entering the church, an usher will assist you with seating. Pews will be marked to promote adequate distancing between groups.

6. Physical contact is to be avoided and Passing of the Peace will be conferred with a nod or a wave.

7. After services are concluded, dismissal will be by row beginning at the rear of the church. Pledges and/ or donations may be left in the collection plate near the rear exit.

8. There will be no food service or fellowship, but casual interaction is encouraged keeping social distancing protocols in mind.

9. With the use of restrooms parents can accompany children. Otherwise only one person in a restroom at a time will be permitted.

10. Please use social distancing when obtaining name tags. Name tags will be cleaned after each use.

The following additional precautions will be taken as part our plan for return to service:

1. All contacted surfaces shall be cleaned and disinfected before and after each service. This includes the backs and ends of pews, pew upholstery, door handles, and bathroom fixtures.

2. Prayer books will be available for use during the service. It is acceptable for someone to bring a personal copy to use in the service.

3. Individuals who are not feeling well are requested to avoid attending the service at St. Francis, but rather join in via the online service which will continue to be broadcast. Likewise, if you are experiencing compromised health conditions such as heart disease or diabetes it is suggested that you continue to participate through the online service.

4. Music will be provided by guest musicians as singing will not be possible at this time.

Your Clergy and Vestry will continue to be in contact with the Diocese and local authorities who are monitoring the progress of Covid- 19 response actions. As conditions improve and changes are recommended, these guidelines will be updated.

With God’s grace, we shall continue down this path to renewed worship and fellowship.

Sincerely, Ed Ballow Junior Warden
